Mission: The mission of Greater Boston Climbing School is to provide professional climbing instruction, guiding and experiences to the Greater Boston Area.
Values
-
Safety and Professionalism
Climbing is Dangerous.
We take our role in education and safety very seriously. Our programs are staffed by certified instructors who use current best practices and equipment. We carefully scaffold our curriculum giving our students the tools they need for the level they are at. We take the time to make sure things are done properly. Along the way we help our students understand the risks they may be taking and our thought process around how we mitigate them.
-
Inclusion
We believe that if you can climb, you can climb! All people are welcomed, encouraged and respected. We all have a unique age, background, identity, knowledge, skill and ability. We will do our best to meet you where you are and help you reach your climbing goals! We want people to feel like they belong when they are at the cliff with us. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you!
-
Stewardship
Who will take care of the places we cherish and love? We will.
We are committed to the long term stewardship of the places we visit. This means donating time, money and showing up to help maintain these areas. We often partner with local climbing organizations like SNECC, WMCC and the Access Fund as well as and land mangers to help make these places better for all!

Experiential Education
We carefully scaffold our experiences and curriculum to give our students the tools they need for the level they are at. We take the time to make sure things are done properly and students understand principles and application; not just mimic the instructor. Along the way we help our students understand the risks they may be taking and our thought process around how we mitigate them. We want students to expand their comfort zone with a solid foundation of skills.
