IMPORTANT! Groups and chaperones, please make sure you bring complete and valid forms for all minors.

Plan Travel to the Climbing Area

Map links can be found on our “Places We Climb” Page. Note many of the areas we use don’t have a restroom. Plan accordingly.

Check the Weather

We use NOAA as our main source of forecast. If weather concerns see our FAQ page for policies.

Pack for Your Day

Clothing

Appropriate clothing to keep you comfortable and dry for a day of vigorous activity.   Clothing should be abrasion resistant and quick drying.  It should allow for easy movement and protect you from bugs, sun, cold, precipitation and scrapes.    

Closed toe hiking shoes and socks

Long pants

T-Shirt and layers as needed for warmth

Insulated jacket

Rain jacket and pants

Small to medium backpack (approx. 30-40L)

Snacks/Lunch – Easy access, quick, minimal mess

Water/Drinks 2 liters normal, 4 liters for hot days

Learning tools: Camera, notebook, pens, etc..

Personal care items, medications, supplies, etc..

 

Climbing Equipment

All climbing equipment is provided.  We know many of our guests also wish to use their own.  We encourage this as long as the equipment meets our standards. An instructor will review and inspect your equipment before use.   Common issues include soft goods being over 10 years old, excessive wear, and/or unknown equipment history. If any equipment is believed to be unsafe or unfit for use, you will be asked to use equipment provided by Greater Boston Climbing School.
